<p>Shirley E. Meyer Obituary</p><p><br></p><p>Shirley E. Meyer, 95, of Burlington, passed away Monday, November 2, 2026.</p><p><br></p><p>A lifelong Burlington area resident, Shirley was born October 28, 1931, the daughter of Frank and Verna (Epping) Richter. While growing up on the family dairy farm in Brighton, she attended St. Alphonsus Grade School and graduated from St. Mary High School (n/k/a Catholic Central).</p><p><br></p><p>On June 11, 1955, Shirley married Donald Meyer at St. Alphonsus Church. After initially settling in a home in the Town of Burlington, Don and Shirley became City of Burlington residents in 1976. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Shirley and Don were long-time active members of St. Mary Parish donating their time, talents and treasures in a variety of ways. Shirley was a member of the parish’s Daughters of Isabella Chapter, both Don and Shirley served as Eucharistic Ministers, they served as members of the Parish Sunday Collection Counting Team, and they were room hosts during the parishes Night Train fundraiser events.</p><p><br></p><p>Shirley is survived by her three children, Michael (Nancy) Meyer of Waterford, Mark (Renee) Meyer, Oak Creek and Marlene Meyer (partner Jim Milne) of Madison; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Shirley’s name be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.</p><p><br></p><p>Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, November 9th from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Daniels Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial for Shirley will also be held on Monday, November 9th at 11:30 AM at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Church.
